Latest Update for New Zealand visa condition
Updated 2020.07.11
There is a new update from New Zealand immigration office recently for the visa holders in New Zealand: This notice is followed with another notice in April: if you hold a visa, you are in New Zealand, and your visa expired before 9 July, the visa expire date will be automatically extended to 25 September, and you will be emailed with the confirmation, you do not need to do anything. And new notice above, will allow specific work visa holder extend their visa for another 6 months. To be clear here, working holiday visa holders are not included because we are not employer-assisted. Do not mistake this. For working holiday visa holders not in New Zealand and visa nearly expire:
- Still no update, not sure whether the immigration will extend the expire date for this visa or they can allow the visa holder who have not entered New Zealand with working holiday visa apply it again
- There are quite a bit petition running now for extension of the expire date.
- We think things will only clear after the COVID-19 pass
- You visa already automatically extended to 25 September, and you will not be able to grant the 6 months extensions, so either you will need to plan to go back to your country, or you need to apply for a new visa. Good luck with that.
